The WINDOWS OF STA. EULALIA is a non-profit project, born and conceived with a single objective:

To learn about and share the past, history, customs and traditions, culture, art, gastronomy, and folklore of Murcia and its Region.

This project was conceived on Saturday, February 17, 2024, during an entire day of dining, followed by the obligatory after-meal conversation and extending late into the evening. It was born among four friends who, whether bold, audacious, or simply driven by passion—but above all, deeply in love with their homeland—began to dream of scribbling phrases, hanging images, and sharing countless ideas on the windows of a building in the heart of one of the city’s most historic neighborhoods. Today, this area stands as a thriving hub of art and culture: Sta. Eulalia.

From that moment on, ideas flowed through their minds—some remained, while others simply passed by. It became a collaborative effort, carefully thought out almost daily and shaped by diverse perspectives. Though not always easy, this continuous exchange and evolution of ideas gradually gave life to the concept of wide-open WINDOWS, allowing them to reach straight into the heart of Murcia. Without hesitation, they sought to inspire and share with both locals and visitors everything that this city and its Region have to offer.

The project required the prior restoration of the facade that would house the murals in its windows, followed by the commissioning of a painting project. All of this has been made possible thanks to the private funds of a devoted lover of this land—a true 21st-century patron—who saw in these windows the opportunity to turn a dream into reality, bringing it closer and sharing it with everyone who passes by this facade.

The project needed hands capable of capturing its concept and masterfully bringing it to life in murals, portraying everything it aimed to represent. Those hands belonged to Ángel and Juan, two artists from the Colectivo Artístico Grafitimural, who follow the tradition of mural advertising painting. They devoted themselves, body and soul, to this exciting adventure—an endeavor that captures a significant piece of Murcia yet inevitably leaves much more still to be shown and celebrated.

And to crown this beautiful madness, what better way than to complement each mural with texts that give voice to what they silently convey? The privilege of writing those words, of capturing this gift and responsibility, fell to one of the four friends who, on that February Saturday, gave life to this dream. Without any of them, this would not have been possible, as each contributed, in just the right measure, what was needed to bring to life a dream called:

WINDOWS OF STA. EULALIA
